The month of November has been an eventful one for Japanese automaker Honda. Early in the month, a loose ball bearing that could cause loss of steering control prompted the automaker to recall a small population of its Pilot SUV, and mid-month, nearly 249,000 vehicles from Honda and luxury arm Acura were recalled over potential engine damage caused by an improperly manufactured connecting rod bearing.

Now, Honda is recalling more than 303,000 Accord sedans and HR-V SUVs over faulty seat belts that may not restrain occupants in the event of a crash.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2023-24 Accords and HR-Vs. The issue is with the front seat belt pretensioners, which may be missing a rivet and may not restrain occupants in the event of a crash

Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt pretensioner assemblies for free. Honda will begin notifying owners Jan. 8, but those with further questions in the meantime can call the automaker at 888-234-2138 (Honda’s numbers for this recall are MG7 and NG5), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
