Toyota has released a teaser image of the next-generation 2025 Camry, and from the image, that the car will have a trunk, bumper and taillights. Badging on that trunk tells us that an all-wheel-drive hybrid setup should at least be available.

Beyond what the image shows, we can make some educated guesses about the 2025 Camry’s details based on the rest of Toyota’s offerings. The 203-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine could stick around as the base engine, but the rest of the lineup is likely to be turbocharged and/or hybridized. The Crown’s hybrid 236-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with AWD is a possibility. And if the sports-sedan Camry TRD sticks around, the Crown’s 340-hp, turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder Hybrid Max powertrain with AWD could add some serious zest.

It’s hard to guess at the styling based on the taillight design, but Toyota has been shifting away from the aggressive look of the current Camry to smoother designs with more flowing curves, as evidenced by the Prius and Crown. The Camry is hugely important to Toyota — it’s the bestselling sedan on sale in the U.S. — but the outgoing car’s styling and the TRD prove the automaker isn’t afraid to take chances with it.
