With Ford engaged in a volatile price war with Tesla and its own sales targets, prices fluctuated several times in 2023, but the 2024 model year is starting out only slightly higher than last year, at $41,890 (all prices include destination).

All 2024 Mach-Es get a new rear motor that’s lighter and delivers more torque than the 2023 unit, generating 264 horsepower and 287 pounds-feet with the standard battery; that’s a 2-hp drop from 2023, but an increase of 70 pounds-feet of torque. With all-wheel drive and the extended-range battery, the 2024 Mach-E generates 365 hp and 500 pounds-feet of torque, increases of 19 and 72, respectively. The GT’s output, at 480 hp and 600 pounds-feet, is unchanged.

While the GT’s output is unchanged in standard form, a new Performance Upgrade, standard on the Rally trim and available on the GT, bumps torque up another 100 pounds-feet, to 700. Ford says this makes for the quickest Mach-E ever. Capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, it improves on last year’s GT Performance Edition by 0.2 seconds. The motor is unchanged; the upgrade modifies the electric motors’ thermal-management programming to enable the higher output.

Ford also modified the electric SUV’s battery controls to allow for faster charging. The standard battery pack can now charge from 10% to 80% in 32.3 minutes, 5.7 minutes quicker than before, with the extended-range battery needing 36.2 minutes, an improvement of 8.8 minutes.

The GT Performance Edition, which included various performance upgrades as well as a slight boost in torque, is no more. But the available Performance Upgrade features a larger increase in torque output, and other Performance Edition equipment has been made standard across the GT line. That includes MagneRide adaptive dampers, Brembo front brake calipers and front sport seats.
