2024 Lucid Air: Options, Greater Choice, $78,900 Base Price

Lucid, will be entering its third year of electric vehicle sales in 2024. The Gravity three-row electric SUV is still roughly a year away from customers’ garages, but the company is starting to treat its Air luxury sedan like a product from an established carmaker. That means more options, available as stand-alone add-ons and packages, as Lucid offers the Air in four trim levels for the 2024 model year: Pure, Touring, Grand Touring and Sapphire.
A new Comfort & Convenience Package adds heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel (heated front seats are standard on all Airs), four-zone climate control, power rear window shades and soft-close doors to the Pure. For the Touring, the package also includes a power opening and closing front trunk and heated windshield wipers; this equipment is standard on the Grand Touring and Sapphire. Other options are newly available on each trim level, as well.

Trim Levels and Pricing
The 2024 Air Pure has an 88-kilowatt-hour battery pack powering a single rear-mounted, 430-horsepower electric motor and an EPA-estimated range of 419 miles; Lucid claims the Air Pure can hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. All variations of the Air can handle DC fast charging from 250 kilowatts, allowing them to add as much as 200 miles of range in less than 12 minutes, according to Lucid. New options for 2024 include additional front-seat adjustability, front-seat ventilation and massage, and new interior color and material choices. Pricing for the Air Pure starts at $78,900 (all prices include $1,500 destination fee). Buyers can order the 2024 Lucid Air Pure now.

The Air Touring has a larger, 92-kWh battery pack, as well as an additional motor on the front axle for all-wheel drive and a total of 620 hp. Official EPA estimates for 2024 aren’t in yet, but Lucid says it has 411 miles of range and can go from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds. For 2024, it offers the same options as the Pure, as well as Fathom Blue paint. Pricing starts at $87,400, and it’s also available to order now.

The marque isn’t saying yet exactly where the specs for the Grand Touring will land in 2024, but Lucid is dropping the Grand Touring Performance from the Air family; previously, that trim sat above the Grand Touring in the hierarchy. The 2023 Grand Touring had a 112-kWh battery pack good for an estimated 516 miles — the longest range of any EV available today — and 819 hp good for 0-60 in three seconds flat. New standard equipment includes a body-color aluminum roof, synthetic leather and 12-way power front seats, while the options list adds a full glass “canopy” roof, 20-way front seats, plus the options from the Pure and Touring. Final specifications and pricing for the new Air Grand Touring will be released in early 2024.

At the top of the line sits the Air Sapphire, a 1,234-hp AWD cocoon capable of 0-60 in less than two seconds, a quarter-mile run in less than nine and a top speed of 205 mph — and with an estimated range of 427 miles. Lucid notes no new optional equipment on the Sapphire, probably because at a base price of $250,500, it already includes everything the company can think of as standard equipment.
