While some automakers are struggling to provide wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection for new models, Honda is putting the functionality in older ones. The automaker announced today it’s retrofitting model-year 2018-22 Accords with the technology.

One caveat is that only 2018-22 Accord trims originally equipped with wired-only Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are eligible for the dealer-installed software update. Honda says that’s approximately 631,000 Accords in the U.S.

The upgrade isn’t free, it’s 2 plus a dealer labor charge, though shoppers interested in purchasing a certified pre-owned Honda can have the update installed for free. Customers can get more information at the Honda DreamShop.
