Hyundai’s latest recall is for more than 54,600 examples of its Elantra N, Kona N and Veloster N models, as well as G70 sedans from its luxury arm Genesis.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2019-22 Veloster N hatchbacks, model-year 2019-23 G70 sedans, and model-year 2022-23 Elantra N sedans and Kona N SUVs.

The recall involves the vehicles’ fuel pump, which may fail and cause the vehicles to lose drive power.
The fuel control valve in the high-pressure fuel pump of these vehicles may allow excess fuel to enter the pump due to wear of the fuel control valve plunger.

Dealers will update the engine control module software and inspect and replace the fuel pump, as necessary, for free. Hyundai will notify owners Sept. 9, but those with questions in the meantime can contact Hyundai at 855-371-9460 (Hyundai’s numbers for this recall are 262 and 023G), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
