Introduction

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric, building on the success of its second-generation debut in 2024, is set to introduce an exciting new addition to its lineup: the N Line trim. Priced starting at $34,270, this new variant offers aesthetic enhancements but stops short of being a full-fledged performance model like the Elantra N or Ioniq 5 N.

Exterior and Interior Enhancements

The Kona Electric N Line boasts a series of exclusive exterior tweaks: black 19-inch wheels, distinctive front and rear bumpers, and black mirror caps and window surrounds. Inside, the vehicle features dark-chrome and red accents, metal pedals, and sport seats upholstered in a combination of black synthetic suede and leather. This trim category also offers 64-color ambient lighting, an upgrade from the previously limited availability.

Powertrain and Range

Mechanically, the Kona Electric remains unchanged for 2025. The base SE trim comes with a 48.6-kWh battery powering a 133-horsepower motor, offering a range of 200 miles. Higher trims, including the N Line, feature a larger 64.8-kWh battery and a 201-horsepower motor. While the SEL and Limited trims achieve a range of 261 miles, the N Line’s 19-inch wheels give it a slightly reduced range of 230 miles. All models are equipped with a 10.8-kilowatt onboard charger that can fast charge the battery from 10% to 80% in about 43 minutes.

Availability and Pricing

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric will be available for purchase later in 2024. Pricing for the various trims is as follows: SE at $34,270, SEL at $38,270, N Line at $39,670, and Limited at $42,445—including a $1,395 destination fee.

Safety and Additional Features

Each Kona Electric model is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-centering steering assist. The N Line, specifically, includes amenities like a power moonroof, Bose audio system, and wireless phone charging. The top-of-the-line Limited trim adds automated parking, a 360-degree camera system, and ventilated front seats.
