Introduction to Maserati’s New Teaser

August is an exciting time for car enthusiasts, as it’s almost time for Monterey Car Week, a renowned event known for its wild car reveals. This year, Maserati has kicked off the excitement by releasing a teaser photo of a new ‘super sports car’ that will be revealed at this year’s event.

The Evolution of the MC20

Maserati has described the new car as a ‘further evolution of the MC20.’ This new model inherits the racing spirit of the Maserati GT2, which starts life as a production MC20 but ditches the GT2 name. The teaser image showcases an aggressive set of louvers cut into the front fender, hinting at its high-performance nature. Unlike the GT2 or the MCXtrema track car, the teaser model isn’t equipped with a massive lip or dive planes, suggesting a street-legal design.

Engine and Performance

The new model is expected to retain Maserati’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 Nettuno engine. In the standard coupe and convertible (Cielo) versions, this 90-degree powertrain pushes out an impressive 621 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. In our testing, this power launched the coupe to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. It’s likely that the new model will offer similar stellar performance.

Upcoming Reveal at Monterey Car Week

The full reveal of the new model will take place at The Quail, a motorsports gathering, as part of Monterey Car Week. The event is scheduled for Friday, August 16. In addition to the new model, Maserati will also showcase the MCXtrema and the limited-edition MC20 Icona during the event.

Stay tuned for more updates as we eagerly await the full reveal of Maserati’s latest high-performance marvel.
