Audi’s Dakar Legacy

Audi has made waves in the automotive world with its extraordinary performance in the Dakar Rally, showcasing innovation and endurance with its RS Q e-tron race car piloted by the renowned Carlos Sainz. This remarkable achievement has not only bolstered Audi’s reputation in motorsport but has inspired the development of a special edition vehicle that pays tribute to this triumph.

The Q6 e-Tron Sportback Off-Roader

Recently, our spy photographers caught glimpses of Audi testing an off-road-oriented SUV based on the newly unveiled Q6 e-Tron Sportback. Dubbed the Q6 e-Tron Sportback 4×4 Dakar, this vehicle is anticipated to be a limited-edition model, embodying the spirit of Audi’s recent accomplishments. The off-roader showcases a tall ride height and a wide track, designed to conquer even the toughest terrains.

Design and Features

Highlights of the Q6 e-Tron Sportback include its distinctive bulbous wheel arches and aggressive stance, which are complemented by a redesigned front bumper featuring large lights and robust tow hooks. With ample ground clearance, this SUV demonstrates impressive approach and departure angles, making it ideal for off-road adventures. The vehicle rides on chunky Toyo Open Country M/T tires and is fitted with a sleek roof rack, reminiscent of Audi’s Q8 e-Tron Edition Dakar.

While details about the Q6 e-Tron Sportback 4×4 Dakar remain sparse, it is expected to unveil during the lead-up to the 2025 Dakar Rally. Audi’s commitment to off-road vehicles is evident, as seen not only in this new model but also in concepts like the Activesphere, indicating a future rich with adventure and innovation.
