Introduction to the Eterron 9

The Chinese firm Maxus has recently unveiled the Eterron 9, proudly claiming its title as the first all-electric, all-wheel-drive pickup in Europe. This remarkable debut has certainly stirred the competitive waters in the automotive sector, particularly among brands such as Rivian, Ford, and Toyota. With the Eterron 9’s blend of power and utility, Maxus is set to make a statement in the electric vehicle market.

Performance Specifications

The Eterron 9 is equipped with two electric motors, delivering a robust combined output of 435bhp. The configuration consists of one motor on the front axle and a more powerful counterpart on the rear axle. This setup not only enhances traction but also provides a towing capacity of three and a half tonnes, making it a versatile option for various applications. Additionally, it can carry a payload of up to 620 kilos, proving its utility as more than just an electric vehicle.

Innovative Battery Technology

At the heart of the Eterron 9’s performance lies a substantial 102kWh battery, offering an official range of 267 miles. The innovative construction of the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery features a nine-cell protective frame, allowing for greater safety and capacity. Charging capabilities are also noteworthy, with a peak recharging rate of 115kW, enabling a 20 to 80 percent charge in approximately 40 minutes. Furthermore, Maxus claims an impressive 18 percent improvement in range during winter conditions compared to other electric vehicles, thanks to an optimized venting system managing battery temperatures.
