Introduction to the e-408

Peugeot has officially announced that it will unveil the electric version of its renowned 408 crossover at the upcoming Paris Motor Show next month. This significant addition signifies Peugeot’s commitment to offering a versatile range of vehicles, catering to the evolving preferences of environmentally conscious consumers.

Powertrain and Performance Details

The e-408 is poised to incorporate a powertrain analogous to that of the e-308, which features a robust front-mounted motor delivering an impressive output of 154bhp. Complementing this motor is a 54kWh battery, which not only ensures a swift performance but also a commendable range for urban and intercity travel.

Range and Charging Capabilities

Drivers can anticipate a 0-62mph acceleration time of merely 9.8 seconds, making the e-408 a compelling option in its class. Additionally, this electric crossover boasts an impressive range of up to 267 miles, thus supporting longer journeys without the need for frequent recharging. With the capability to recharge at rates of up to 100kW, users can benefit from reduced downtime during their travels.

By introducing the e-408, Peugeot aims to complete its medium-term lineup, ensuring that every vehicle sold in the UK is available with a choice of petrol, hybrid, and electric powertrains. This strategic decision reflects Peugeot’s dedication to sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry.
