Overview of the 2025 VW Taos

The 2025 Volkswagen Taos has undergone remarkable transformations, boasting a fresh look, improved horsepower, and a starting price of $26,420. Volkswagen has adjusted its approach to cater to North American preferences, stepping away from its earlier attempts to impose a European style. The updated Taos subcompact SUV reflects this shift, offering features and enhancements that are particularly appealing to the American market.

Performance Enhancements

Significant engine improvements have been made to the Taos. The engineers at Volkswagen have optimized various components of the 1.5-liter engine, including piston rings, turbocharger housing, and fuel injectors. With the introduction of a larger intercooler and a gas particulate filter, the new Taos generates a total of 174 horsepower, marking a 16-hp increase. Although the torque output remains stable at 184 pound-feet, subtle adjustments to the torque curve may enhance acceleration.

Interior and Design Updates

The interior of the 2025 Taos has seen a notable transformation, moving away from the monotony of the previous design. The introduction of a lighter dash and improved materials, including soft-touch leatherette door panels, elevates the overall aesthetic. A new 8.0-inch touchscreen is standard across all trims, with advanced features such as wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Externally, fresh updates include a full-width light bar and modernized projector headlights, contributing to the Taos’s contemporary appeal. The new color options, like Bright Moss Green, further enhance its visual attractiveness.
