Introduction to the Ford Puma Gen-E

The Ford Puma Gen-E has recently emerged as a noteworthy addition to Ford’s lineup of electric vehicles (EVs) in Europe. Building on the success of its gas-powered counterpart, the new Puma Gen-E aligns with Ford’s marketing strategy to leverage well-known names in the EV market.

Design and Practicality of the Puma Gen-E

One striking feature of the Ford Puma Gen-E is its design, which stays true to the bubbly silhouette of the gas-powered model. Changes include the introduction of an upside-down U-shaped black trim piece in place of the traditional trapezoidal grille, a suggestion of its advanced electric capabilities. Moreover, the Gen-E offers enhanced practicality with a spacious trunk that boasts 20.3 cubic feet of storage, alongside a 1.5-cubic-foot front trunk (frunk) to accommodate various needs.

Performance and Features

Equipped with a modest 43.0-kWh battery, the Ford Puma Gen-E offers a maximum range of 234 miles, making it ideal for European commuting. It further excels with a city driving range of up to 325 miles, aided by its efficient one-pedal driving mode. While the performance may not compete with speed demons—achieving 0 to 62 mph in 8.0 seconds—the Puma Gen-E compensates with a well-designed cabin, inclusive of a 12.0-inch center touchscreen and access to the Sync 4 infotainment system.

Deliveries of the Ford Puma Gen-E are slated to begin in spring 2025, with starting prices anticipated in the mid-,000 range. This model reinforces Ford’s commitment to providing practical, affordable electric vehicles for the European market.
