2025 Ford Maverick: A Fresh Look and Enhanced Capabilities

Introduction: The 2025 Ford Maverick

The Ford Maverick is entering its fourth model year with significant enhancements. The 2025 version introduces a new aesthetic, updated tech features, and amplified capabilities, particularly for hybrid models. Our favorite compact pickup truck, initially launched in 2022, is set to captivate more customers with its latest improvements.

Visual Evolution and Distinctive Designs

The 2025 Ford Maverick’s visual changes aim to differentiate between trim levels more prominently. Key updates include black accents on the headlights and LED running lights for top trims. The front bumper now merges into the headlight housing, forming a ‘7’ shape—though opinions on this new look might vary. Each trim now boasts a unique grille design, adding freshness while maintaining familiarity.

Hybrid Models: Now with AWD and Enhanced Towing

The most notable advancements pertain to the hybrid models. Previously unavailable, all-wheel drive (AWD) can now be added to the XL, XLT, and Lariat trims—addressing a top request from Maverick owners. Additionally, hybrid models can now opt for the tow package, matching the 4000-pound tow rating of the turbocharged four-cylinder variant. While the powertrain options remain unchanged, the 2.0-liter turbo sees a slight horsepower reduction, from 250 to 238 HP.

Advanced Tech Features

Inside, the Maverick boasts an upgraded infotainment system. The touchscreen has grown significantly from 8.0 inches to 13.2 inches, featuring Ford’s Sync 4 software with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A new 5G WiFi connection enhances connectivity, allowing for over-the-air updates. Additionally, the Maverick now offers a 360-degree camera and Ford’s Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Backup Assist features—optional on XL and XLT, but standard on Lariat and Tremor trims. The top trims also include adaptive cruise control and lane-centering, further enhancing safety across all models.

Pricing and Availability

The 2025 Ford Maverick sees a price increase commensurate with its upgrades. The base XL trim starts at $27,890, while the XLT hybrid begins at $30,390. The AWD EcoBoost Lariat starts at $37,130, and the Lariat hybrid at $38,330. The new Tremor model, at the top of the lineup, starts at $41,390. Order books open on August 1, with deliveries expected later this year.
