Introduction to the 2025 Subaru Ascent

The 2025 Subaru Ascent is positioning itself further upmarket with notable changes for the new model year. This mid-size SUV now starts at $40,215, a nearly $4,500 increase from the 2024 base price. This rise comes as Subaru drops the base trim and introduces two new trims – the Bronze Edition and Onyx Edition Touring – along with a host of standard safety features.

New Standard Features and Trims

In terms of safety, the 2025 Subaru Ascent now includes blind spot monitors, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic emergency braking, emergency steering assist, and emergency stop assist as standard features. These advanced safety features aim to provide a comprehensive safety net for drivers and passengers.

The Bronze Edition and Onyx Edition Touring are the new additions to the Ascent family. These trims bring exclusive design elements and premium materials, enhancing the overall appeal and driving experience.

Powertrain and Performance

The 2025 model retains the same powertrain as its predecessor. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four-cylinder engine that delivers 260 horsepower and 277 pounds-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and an all-wheel-drive system. Fuel economy figures are expected to remain similar to 2024, with some trims achieving 20/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined.

Pricing and Availability

The 2025 Subaru Ascent will hit dealership floors in the fall. Here’s a breakdown of the pricing for various trims:

  • Premium: $40,215
  • Onyx Edition: $43,615
  • Limited: $47,415
  • Bronze Edition: $48,415
  • Touring: $50,415
  • Onyx Edition Touring: $51,415

The interior features cloth upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, and an 11.6-inch touchscreen with satellite radio and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Onyx Edition comes exclusively with second-row captain’s chairs, additional drive modes, black finishes, and synthetic leather upholstery with green stitching.

The Limited trim adds a panoramic moonroof, leather upholstery, and an upgraded tech suite including a Harman Kardon audio system and a 360-degree camera system. The Bronze Edition offers similar features with exclusive bronze finishes.
