The Evolution of the Cadillac Escalade

The all-electric 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL marks a significant step for the iconic Escalade brand. Built on Cadillac’s innovative Ultium architecture, the IQL retains the luxury and spaciousness while offering a distinct electric powertrain. Although it departs from the traditional truck-underpinnings of its gas-burning predecessors, Cadillac remains committed to delivering an Escalade experience.

Longer Wheelbase and Enhanced Comfort

Unlike the standard Escalade IQ, the Escalade IQL features an extended design that adds length behind the rear wheels rather than stretching the wheelbase. Measuring 228.5 inches in length, the IQL enhances third-row seating with 4.4 more inches of legroom and improved headroom, thanks to its flatter roofline. Additionally, the IQL offers 24.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, slightly surpassing the standard IQ while still lagging behind the ESV’s expansive capacity.

Power and Performance Features

The Escalade IQL is designed with performance in mind. Equipped with all-wheel drive and two electric motors, it delivers an impressive 680 horsepower and 615 pounds-feet of torque. The vehicle’s unique velocity max mode can momentarily enhance output to 750 hp and 785 pounds-feet, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in a claimed 4.7 seconds. Despite its robust specifications, the IQL carries a 5,000-pound towing capacity, less than the IQ’s capability.

With a battery capacity of 205 kilowatt-hours, the IQL is predicted to maintain the same impressive 460-mile range as the standard Escalade IQ, ensuring that luxury and practicality go hand in hand.
