Introduction to the 2026 Volvo S90

The 2026 Volvo S90 has recently made headlines with its refreshed design aimed at the Chinese market. Following a report indicating the end of S90 sales in the United States, Volvo unveiled an updated version that boasts a striking aesthetic and enhanced features. This mid-size sedan showcases the brand’s commitment to innovation and stylish design.

Design and Aesthetics

The renewed S90 adopts a bolder appearance inspired by the recently updated XC90 SUV. Featuring a sleeker front end, the vehicle includes piercing headlights with a distinctive LED Thor’s Hammer graphic. The grille has undergone a redesign, now presenting an asymmetrical layout with diagonal lines that complement the Volvo badge. Additionally, new colors, Aurora Silver and Mulberry Red, further enhance its appealing exterior.

Advanced Features and Performance

Inside, the 2026 S90 introduces a revamped infotainment system centered around an impressive 11.2-inch vertical screen. This new interface is designed to provide a more responsive user experience compared to the previous 9.0-inch display. Volvo has also focused on improving sound insulation and enhancing ride comfort with an updated adaptive suspension system. Under the hood, the S90 will be available with a plug-in hybrid setup that delivers an estimated range of around 42 miles, marking a welcome improvement over its predecessor.

While the updated S90 will not be sold in the United States, it aims to capture the attention of consumers in China. Orders for this elegantly designed sedan are set to begin this summer, indicating Volvo’s strategic pivot towards the growing Chinese automotive market.
