Operational Efficiency and Environmental Impact

With a total of 100 battery-powered trucks, this advancement saves significant carbon dioxide emissions that traditional diesel trucks would generate. Although these trucks transport coal, an environmentally contentious energy source, their efficiency is undeniable. According to Shu Yingqiu, director of the Huaneng Yimin open-pit mine, “the power for our pure electric unmanned mining trucks is entirely sourced from photovoltaic green energy,” highlighting a step towards sustainable practices.

The Technological Edge of the XCMG ZNK95

Designed to carry an impressive 85 metric tons, the XCMG ZNK95 trucks are equipped with advanced features such as millimeter wave radar and artificial intelligence. Capable of operating in extreme temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius, these trucks autonomously load and unload materials. Furthermore, on-site battery swapping ensures minimal downtime, allowing the trucks to remain operational and efficient.

With a communication system powered by a 5G-advanced network established by Huawei, these trucks can connect in real time, significantly improving overall transport efficiency by 20%. As the industry evolves, these driverless electric trucks developed by Huaneng Group represent the forefront of innovation, potentially transforming mining practices globally.
