Exciting Event Coming to Shelsley Walsh

The annual bike bonanza is returning to Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb on Saturday, July 5. This exhilarating event promises a day filled with high-octane sprint action as more than 100 motorcycles take over the iconic 1000-yard course with a challenging 1:6 gradient. As the venue celebrates its rich motorsport history, which dates back to August 12, 1905, the bike bonanza is poised to be one of the highlights of the summer.

Classes and Participants

The event will showcase a variety of riders split into four capacity classes, ensuring thrilling competition across different motorcycle types. Additionally, sidecar outfits and Morgan 3-wheelers will also grace the hill climb, adding to the excitement. A significant highlight will be the debut of the Lansdowne Classic Racing Series, featuring pre-1962 motorcycles from renowned brands like Norton, Triumph, and AJS, which will transport spectators back to the glorious 1950s and 1960s grand prix era.

Celebrating Motor Racing Heritage

2025 marks an important milestone in racing history, as it commemorates 50 years since Barry Sheene claimed his first GP victory on a Suzuki RG500 at Assen. To celebrate this achievement, expect to see three running RGs led by Sheene’s former teammate, Steve Parrish, performing demonstration runs during the event.

This year’s bike bonanza also aims to raise vital funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance charity, which plays a crucial role in saving lives. As part of this plan, a charity ride-in will be organized from Strensham services, allowing participants to experience the beauty of Worcestershire’s countryside while contributing to this worthy cause. Each ride-in ticket will cost £3, providing entry to the group ride up the hill climb course.
