Affected Vehicles

The models embroiled in this recall encompass the 2019-22 Infiniti QX50 SUVs and the 2022 QX55 SUVs, all equipped with the 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine or the variable-compression turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The defect pertains to potential flaws in the engine bearings, which could disrupt the cooling mechanism, leading to catastrophic engine failure.

Next Steps for Owners

For vehicle owners, it is worth noting that Nissan will handle inspections and repairs free of charge. Dealers will inspect the engine oil pan for any metal debris, and necessary actions will follow based on the inspection results. For those with the 1.5-liter engine, the procedure will include replacing the oil pan gasket and engine oil. Meanwhile, if no debris is detected in the 2.0-liter engine, dealers will simply replace the engine oil. Notifications to owners are expected to be mailed out by August 25.

For any queries or concerns, Nissan encourages owners to reach out to their dedicated hotlines or visit their website to verify their vehicle identification number. Staying informed is key to maintaining the safety and performance of your vehicle during this recall.
