Introduction to the Ford Power Promise

Over the past year, Ford has championed a program that supports electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts by providing a home charger with each car purchase, along with installation costs covered. This initiative, known as the Ford Power Promise, was originally set to conclude last month. However, as the landscape of EV tax credits shifts, Ford has made the decision to extend the program, currently projected to last until September 30.

The Advantages of Ford’s Program

This extension offers customers a considerable deal: the chance to purchase a Ford EV and receive up to ,500 in tax credits, alongside the home charger and installation included. Notably, this program streamlines the transition to electric for many newcomers who may be overwhelmed by the intricacies of EV charging setups.

Cost Savings and Reliability for EV Owners

According to Ford spokesperson Maria Buczkowski, customers can save between and on fuel costs, taking into consideration residential electricity prices against gasoline. A significant 80% to 85% of EV owners typically charge their vehicles at home, making the Power Promise essential, especially given the high costs associated with Level 2 charger installations, which can range widely from ,000 to ,000.

Additionally, Ford’s program secures access to a broad network of public chargers, including Tesla’s supercharger stations, combined with an impressive 10-year battery warranty that guarantees 90% health at 100,000 miles. This reliability reinforces the appeal of modern electric vehicle batteries, which studies show can often exceed 200,000 to even 300,000 miles while maintaining a commendable capacity.

To take advantage of the Ford Power Promise, customers must purchase or lease qualifying models including the 2025 F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, or E-Transit cargo van before September 30. For more details, be sure to check Ford’s official website.
