Introducing Ionna’s New Partnership

Great news for electric vehicle (EV) owners! Ionna, the innovative DC fast charging network supported by major global automakers, is teaming up with Wawa, a popular convenience store and gas station chain, to enhance accessibility to charging stations across the United States. Starting next week, Ionna chargers will start appearing at selected Wawa stores, beginning with Daytona Beach International Airport in Florida.

The Growth of Ionna Charging Stations

This initiative aims to install Ionna’s impressive 400-kilowatt chargers at multiple Wawa locations. With the first site already in the works, the company has plans for additional stations in Bradenton, Pensacola, and Orlando, making it easier than ever for drivers to charge their EVs. Currently, Ionna operates 212 bays, with another 400 under construction, bringing the future total to an ambitious 30,000 DC fast chargers by 2030.

Convenience and Comfort for EV Drivers

What makes this partnership special is the focus on driver comfort. Ionna charging stations at Wawa will feature canopies, providing shade as drivers recharge their EVs while enjoying Wawa’s delicious offerings—like freshly prepared food, beverages, and coffee. Rich Makin, Wawa’s Chief Fuel Officer, emphasizes the importance of speed and convenience, making a pit stop at Wawa a one-stop shop for all your needs while your car powers up.

As Ionna continues to expand its network with leading brands, it’s reassuring to know that EV charging can be both efficient and pleasant. With support from renowned automakers, Ionna is proving to be a game-changer for the EV landscape in North America.
