Modernizing Existing Stations

In a noteworthy effort, ChargePoint has unveiled a conversion kit that will modernize existing charging stations. This solution aims to tackle the compatibility issue that arises as the industry shifts from J1772 to the North American Charging Standard (NACS). ChargePoint’s CTO, Hossein Kazemi, emphasized the ease of use for EV drivers; simply register your vehicle on the ChargePoint app, select your charger, and let the station automatically provide the correct connector. With this new adaptable charging solution, there’s no need for station owners to invest in complete replacements.

Innovating for the Future

Other innovations from ChargePoint include implementing AI to monitor charger performance and launching the ‘Safeguard Care’ program for routine maintenance of their stations. With a commanding 60% market share of public AC charging ports in North America, ChargePoint also provides faster Level 2 chargers and enhanced security features to protect against theft and vandalism.

As the omni port EV charger continues to roll out, along with the introduction of the conversion kit, ChargePoint is paving the way for increased convenience and accessibility, promising a bright future for the EV community.
