Kia’s Recent Recall Announcement

In a significant update for Kia owners, the automobile manufacturer is recalling more than 100,000 K5 sedan units. This recall specifically targets the model years 2023-2025 due to a potential issue with the left and right rear window c-pillar trim pieces.

Potential Risks Associated with Detached Trim

The problem arises from these trim pieces which may loosen and detach while the vehicle is in motion. Such occurrences pose a serious hazard, not only for the affected vehicle’s occupants but also for other road users. The detachment of window trim can create an unexpected road hazard, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

Free Fix and Owner Notification

As part of the solution, Kia has assured that dealers will replace the affected c-pillar trim assemblies at no cost to the owners. This recall effort is vital to ensure the safety of all drivers on the road. Kia plans to notify owners beginning September 26. Owners can also contact Kia directly at 800-333-4542 for specific details about this recall, referenced under recall number SC346. For additional assistance, they can reach out to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327-4236 or visit their official website to check their vehicle identification number.
