Details of the Brake Module Issue

The recalled vehicles consist of model-year 2025 Bronco, Expedition, F-150, Navigator, and Ranger. The primary concern involves a malfunctioning electronic brake booster module, which can compromise braking ability while the vehicle is in motion. When engaged with advanced driver-assist systems, the risk is heightened, leading to potentially extended stopping distances, which can increase the likelihood of a crash.

Steps for Vehicle Owners

Ford is taking steps to address the brake module issue, offering a remedy through either an over-the-air software update or a dealer service, both provided at no cost to vehicle owners. Notification letters are scheduled to be mailed out on August 25, informing affected owners further. In the meantime, Ford encourages any questions about the recall to be directed to them at 866-436-7332. Additionally, owners can reach out to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at 888-327-4236 or visit the NHTSA website to check their vehicle identification numbers for more details.
