The Retro Revival

Honda has unleashed a delightful dose of nostalgia at the 46th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race with their near-production retro bike concepts: the CB1000F Naked and the partially faired CB1000F SE. Five years after the first CB-F concept graced the 2020 Osaka Motorcycle Show, the Big H is back, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

What’s Under the Hood?

Both models ride on the same technical platform as Honda’s CB1000 Hornet, boasting a robust 998cc inline four-cylinder engine that hails from the legendary 2017 Fireblade. While the engine purrs with around 150bhp, the chassis architecture remains identical, ensuring a thrilling ride. But fear not, design enthusiasts! The team has put a modern spin on the aesthetics, drawing inspiration from the iconic CB750F and CB900F of the ‘80s. Think boxy bodywork, silver and blue livery reminiscent of Freddie Spencer’s AMA superbike-winning CB—pure eye candy!

Ready for the Spotlight

Even though these beauties are labeled as concepts, they are so close to production that we can almost hear the roar of their engines reverberating through the streets. With the potential to replace the long-running CB1300 Super Four and Super Bol d’or models, these bikes are definitely aimed at capturing the European market. Priced competitively around or below £10,000, they could give rivals like the Suzuki GSX-8T and Yamaha XSR900 a run for their money.

Stay tuned as full details are expected later this year—we can’t wait to see these stunning machines hit the roads!
