Welcome Back to the Naked Side

Prepare yourself, motorcycle enthusiasts, because Kawasaki is revving into the road-biased super-naked category with the all-new Z1100 family. Priced from an eye-watering £11,099, this spirited lineup is sure to catch your attention and, perhaps more importantly, your wallet.

Head-to-Head with the Hornet

Taking direct aim at Honda’s popular CB1000 Hornet, the Zed family boasts two models: the standard and the SE (starting at £12,699 if you need that extra bling). Both versions flaunt a striking resemblance to the long-defunct Z1000, the last we saw in Europe was back in 2020—now that’s what we call a long-awaited reunion!

Power, But Not Quite Hornet-Level

Under the hood—or rather, between the frames—lies a powerful 1099cc inline four-cylinder engine, which claims to produce about 137.1bhp at a sprightly 9000rpm and a healthy 83.4lb.ft of torque at 7600rpm. Admittedly, it might not win you any top-trumps battles (especially when pitted against the Hornet’s 150+ bhp), but this bike should deliver plenty of thrill for those casual, jacket-and-jeans rides.

Of course, Kawasaki didn’t stop there; they’ve tweaked the camshaft profiles, valve springs, and gearing for that added comfort on long rides. The tech enhancements include new electronic throttle valves for cruise control and an up/down quickshifter—a must-have for that spirited throttle! Not to mention, a vibrant 5-inch colour TFT dash that lets you customize your riding modes and even connects to your smartphone. Because who doesn’t want to be social while riding?

So, if you’re ready for some naked shenanigans, the Z1100 family arrives in October. Ideal for everyone who enjoys a zesty ride—but maybe hold the ‘hornet’ jokes for now!
