The Genesis GV70 Expands Its Electrified Lineup

It’s officially happening! Genesis is all set to enhance its flagship GV70 with two electrified options: the first-ever hybrid and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models. As the luxury brand marks its 10th anniversary, they’re gearing up to make a grand statement in the automotive market.

What to Expect from the Upcoming Genesis GV70

During a recent CEO investor presentation, Hyundai unveiled exciting plans for the Genesis lineup. For the first time since its establishment, Genesis will distribute hybrid models alongside its current offerings of fully electric (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. This strategic move aims to entice a broader array of buyers into the luxury market, catering to both those seeking eco-friendly driving and traditional performance.

A Closer Look at the Genesis GV70 EREV and Hybrid

The Genesis GV70 EREV and the hybrid variant are set to hit the market soon, with the EREV debuting in late 2026 and the hybrid following in early 2027. We caught a glimpse of the EREV vehicle recently in South Korea; it largely resembles its electrified counterpart. The hybrid model, still under wraps, has generated buzz thanks to its sporty styling—complete with a unique design indicative of a facelift.

With aspirations to sell 350,000 vehicles by 2030, Genesis is positioning itself to mix hybrids and EREVs as a bridge toward a fully electrified future. By expanding into up to 20 new European markets and enhancing its presence in the U.S., Genesis is excitedly preparing for its electrifying journey ahead!
