Introducing the EV2 and EV4
Kia is gearing up to make waves in the electric vehicle market with an ambitious plan to triple its production in Europe within the next two years. The exciting new additions to the lineup, the EV2 and EV4, will cater to a diverse range of customers. The compact EV2 is designed to be Kia’s most affordable electric car, promising to redefine urban electric mobility with a flexible interior and cutting-edge technology.

A Bold Production Plan
According to Kia’s CEO, Ho Sung Song, the Slovakian plant in Zilina is set to become a powerhouse for EV production, aiming to build about 100,000 EV2 models annually by 2027. The EV4, which is positioned as an electric hatchback, will also see a significant output increase, targeting over 80,000 units in the same timeframe. Combined, these models are expected to reach a staggering production milestone of 100,000 units per year globally.

Impact on Kia’s Market Presence
With these bold production goals, Kia is not just expanding its electric vehicle offerings; it’s positioning itself as a leader in the evolving EV landscape. Even though overall sales have faced a slight decline, the demand for electric vehicles is surging, with a remarkable 56% increase in EV sales this year. This growth is driven primarily by the popularity of the EV3, which has become Kia’s second-best-selling model. As Kia builds momentum with the EV2 and EV4, we can expect to see more consumers keen to make the switch to electric, solidifying Kia’s presence in the market.
