The Anticipation Builds for the EV2
Mark your calendars, car enthusiasts! Kia is gearing up to unveil its smallest electric vehicle, the EV2, in early 2026. Although Kia’s president and CEO, Song Ho-sung, has not provided a specific date, his recent comments to Auto Express have given us insight into this thrilling new model. This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for!

An Evolution of Design
Earlier this year, the EV2 concept made a splash during Kia’s EV Day, showcasing its entry-level design that’s expected to transition closely into production. Karim Habib, Kia’s design head, stated that the differences between the concept and the final production model are minimal. Expect standards set by Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, which adorns other standout electric models like the EV3 and EV4.

Roomy and Affordable EV Experience
Despite being Kia’s smallest EV, the interior space of the EV2 aims to surprise buyers. Features like a unique folding rear bench and a minimalist cabin design are set to elevate the riding experience. Priced at approximately 30,000 euros (,000), it’s positioned as an affordable option in its segment, with production slated to take place at Kia’s Slovakian plant.
The production model could make its debut as soon as the Brussels Motor Show this January. Following the EV2, fans can also look forward to an even smaller, more affordable EV1, set to refresh Kia’s electric lineup from EV1 to EV9.
