Chevy Bolt’s Comeback

GM has officially unveiled the new version of the Chevy Bolt at a special Bolt Block Party event in Universal Studios Hollywood! It’s exciting to see this popular and affordable electric vehicle (EV) making a comeback with an upgraded battery while maintaining the characteristics that made its predecessor so loved by drivers.

A Look Back at the Chevy Bolt Journey

Originally released in the 2017 model year, the Chevy Bolt represented GM’s commitment to creating a truly all-electric vehicle. Unlike previous efforts like the Spark EV, the Bolt was designed to capture a wider audience with its practical size and incredible price point. In fact, it was recognized as Electrek’s Vehicle of the Year for 2022! Despite facing challenges, including an extended recall and being based on an older EV platform, the Bolt achieved its best sales year in 2023 before GM announced its retirement.

Introducing the Boltium

But wait; the story doesn’t end there! Amidst the announcement of the Bolt’s retirement, GM hinted at a future replacement based on their state-of-the-art Ultium platform, affectionately dubbed the “Boltium” by our publisher, Seth Weintraub. Now, as we gather at this exciting event, the new Chevy Bolt shines with a modern touch and thrilling enhancements!

The resurgence of the Chevy Bolt is definitely one to watch, especially for EV enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more insights and excitement as we explore everything this revamped model has to offer!
