No Standard Frunk for the 2026 Mustang Mach-E
The anticipation surrounding the 2026 Mustang Mach-E is palpable. However, enthusiasts should note that unlike many electric vehicles (EVs), the 2026 Mustang Mach-E will not come with a standard frunk, or front trunk. Instead, Ford has elected to offer it as an optional feature for an undisclosed price. This decision is rooted in customer feedback, as Ford’s new Mach-E brand manager, Teddy Ankeny, shared that drivers have not utilized the frunk as frequently as expected.

Pricing Adjustments for the 2026 Lineup
One of the notable aspects of the 2026 Mustang Mach-E is its revised pricing. For instance, the Mach-E GT model is now approximately $1,000 less than its predecessor, with a starting price of $53,395. Meanwhile, the base Select model remains at $37,795. The new California Edition is introduced with a starting price of $55,890, distinguished by its unique rave blue color scheme. This model, designed separately from the classic two-door Mustang, boasts impressive specifications, including 480 horsepower and an EPA-estimated driving range of 280 miles.

Additional Savings and Incentives
Ford is also focused on providing savings for consumers opting for electric vehicles. The Ford Power Promise initiative includes perks such as a complimentary level 2 home charger with installation, 24/7 EV support, roadside assistance, and an 8-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty. If you already own a home charger, Ford offers a $2,000 cash bonus, making going electric more enticing than ever.
As 2026 approaches, the Mustang Mach-E is available for pre-order online, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2026. While the future cost of the optional frunk remains unannounced, the latest updates position the Mustang Mach-E as a competitive electric option.
