Krämer unveils track-only conversion kit for KTM Super Duke R models

German race-bike specialist Krämer has introduced a new bolt-on conversion kit that turns KTM’s 1290 and 1390 Super Duke R super-nakeds into dedicated, track-only machines. Known as the Super Duke Racing Kit, the package is aimed squarely at riders looking to repurpose KTM’s flagship streetfighters for circuit use.

Priced at £6,995 in the UK, the kit is compatible with all 1290 Super Duke R models built from 2020 onwards, as well as the newer 1390 Super Duke R, which debuted in 2024. While the core components are shared across both versions, Krämer notes that certain elements—such as the front ram-air system—differ slightly between the two models to suit their respective designs.

The conversion is extensive, comprising more than 100 individual parts. The aim is to transform the Super Duke from its upright, road-focused stance into a hunched-over superbike-style layout optimised for track riding. Externally, the most obvious changes include a full set of fibreglass fairings reinforced with carbon Kevlar, giving the bike a race-bred appearance and improved aerodynamics. Optional 3D-printed front winglets are also available for those looking to push the visual and aerodynamic envelope further.

In the UK, sales and support are being handled by Moto Twelve, the Derbyshire-based outfit run by former Grand Prix and Isle of Man TT racer Eddie Roberts. Customers are required to supply their own donor motorcycle, with the kit price covering only the conversion components. Installation can be carried out at home, or riders can opt for a professional fitting service, expected to cost around £750.

According to Moto Twelve, two kits have already arrived in the UK, with one installed privately and the other fitted by the company’s own technicians—suggesting early interest from trackday riders and enthusiasts keen to explore the Super Duke’s potential beyond the road.

The Super Duke Racing Kit highlights the growing crossover between high-performance road bikes and track-focused machinery. Rather than developing an entirely new model, Krämer’s approach allows owners to unlock a different side of the Super Duke platform—albeit at a significant additional cost and with track-only limitations. Whether this niche conversion appeals beyond a small group of dedicated riders will depend on how much value owners place on exclusivity and circuit performance over the Super Duke’s already formidable road-going abilities.
