Hyundai’s Entry into the Electric SUV Market

Expected to debut in spring 2025, the Hyundai Ioniq 9 marks a significant milestone for the automaker as it ventures into the three-row electric SUV segment. Sharing much of its mechanical architecture with the Kia EV9, this innovative vehicle aims to set a new standard for efficiency and performance in electric vehicles.

Performance and Range

The base model of the Ioniq 9 will feature a single motor producing 215 horsepower, but Hyundai will also offer all-wheel drive and performance-focused variants of this exciting electric SUV. A notable highlight of the Ioniq 9 is its impressive range—Hyundai expects to achieve over 300 miles on a single charge, made possible by a robust 110.3 kWh battery pack. Charging from 10 to 80 percent will take just 24 minutes on a DC fast charger, making it a practical choice for those with active lifestyles.

Spacious Design and Comfort

One of the standout features of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 is its interior, which is designed to be both spacious and airy. The SUV’s wheelbase measures nine inches longer than that of Hyundai’s largest gas-powered SUV, the Palisade, ensuring ample room for passengers and cargo alike. This focus on comfort and functionality is sure to appeal to families and adventure-seekers looking for an environmentally friendly option.
