Introduction to Hyundai’s Expanded Program

Hyundai has announced an expansion of its complimentary electric vehicle (EV) charger offer, allowing more customers to benefit from the incentive. Initially available only for the 2025 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 5 N models, this program has now been extended to include the model-year 2024 Ioniq 5 SUV and the model-year 2024-25 Ioniq 6 sedan. This initiative reflects Hyundai’s commitment to promote electric mobility.

Understanding the Offers

Eligible buyers and lessees of the newly included Ioniq models can choose between two attractive offers: a complimentary ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger or a 0 charging credit. The home charger requires installation through Hyundai Home, with costs varying significantly based on home electrical setups. Meanwhile, the charging credit can be redeemed through the ChargePoint mobile app, providing users access to over 87,000 chargers nation-wide.

Considerations for Consumers

When selecting between the home charger and the public charging credit, it’s important for customers to consider installation costs and personal charging habits. Installation costs for home chargers can range from 0 to ,045, an important factor for potential buyers. Additionally, with the evolving landscape of federal EV tax incentives, Hyundai’s program plays a crucial role in maintaining consumer interest in electric vehicles, as similar initiatives from other automakers gain traction in the market.
