Experience Meets Innovation

eBliss Global is not just a new player in the e-bike market; Klehm’s extensive experience adds significant credence to their plans. With over 40 years in automotive and bicycle manufacturing, he has been pivotal in launching Europe’s e-bike market. Klehm stated, “What we’re seeing in the U.S. is a wild surge in e-bikes,” highlighting the increasing popularity of this mode of transport with nearly 2.5 million e-bikes sold last year.

Community Support and Growth Potential

Why did eBliss choose Utica for their operations? The answer lies in the community’s support and infrastructure. Klehm praised the local workforce and educational systems, emphasizing that Utica is ideally located in the Northeast, making it logistically advantageous. With plans to employ around 40 people and produce 15,000 e-bikes within the first year, the arrival of eBliss is a significant boost for the local economy, reinforced by a $500,000 grant from Empire State Development.

Utica Mayor Mike Galime expressed optimism for the future, stating, “This company is extremely interested in growth. They are at the cusp of an industry that is starting to proliferate.” As electric bikes gain traction nationally, Utica stands poised to play a crucial role in this exciting shift towards sustainable transportation.
