The Auction of Prototypes and Components
Fast forward to two years later, and Sono Motors is auctioning off its prototypes and components on an Austrian website. However, it’s crucial to note that these prototypes are not road-legal, with no paperwork available for registration.

Initially unveiled in 2017, Sono Motors’ solar EV prototype aimed to harness solar power effectively, boasting 330 solar cells capable of generating around 18 miles of range from sunlight. Despite a promising start, production delays and cost-cutting measures ultimately hindered the vision of a sustainable vehicle with a starting price of just $25,000.
