A Legendary Motorcycle Auction

In a stunning turn of events, Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher’s personal Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade has sold for an astonishing €64,800 (£55,900) at auction. This amount is almost double the initial estimate of €25,000-€35,000, showcasing just how much fans and collectors value memorabilia tied to the iconic racer.

A Track-Ready Machine

This 2010 model was more than just a display piece. Race-prepared by Holzhauer Racing Performance (HRP) in Germany, the bike was frequently used by Schumacher for track days and minor superbike competitions following his first retirement from car racing in 2007. After a life-threatening motorcycle accident, which delayed his return to F1, he proved his prowess by achieving a commendable third place in a round of the IDM German Superbike Series held in Pannonia-Ring, Hungary, in 2009.

Mementos from a Champion

During the online auction conducted by Sotheby’s in Germany, entitled ‘The Champions – Schumacher and F1 Legends,’ this bike stood out among more than 300 valuable items, which ranged from signed gloves and helmets to race car parts and trophies. The motorcycle itself is equipped with race parts standard for high-quality track bikes: a race ECU, airbox, clips-ons, rearsets, and striking carbon bodywork in Schumacher’s signature livery featuring the number 77. The bike even included a quickshifter, an Akrapovič exhaust, and a signed Schuberth helmet, making it a perfect tribute to Schumacher’s racing legacy.
