Making an Impact in the Heavy-Duty EV Sector

Orange EV might not have the widespread recognition of giants like Mack or Kenworth, but this innovative manufacturer is carving out a niche in the electric heavy-duty terminal tractor market. Recently, they broke an impressive milestone by logging ten million hours of operation in their deployed fleet. This achievement is a testament to the reliability and efficiency of battery-powered heavy-duty EVs, even amidst skepticism from traditional energy advocates.

Proven Performance Not Just Promises

Kurt Neutgens, president and CTO of Orange EV, stated, “Ten million hours makes one thing clear: Orange EV has taken electric terminal trucks from possible to proven.” With their fleet operating at an average of 97% uptime, Orange EV is demonstrating that it’s possible to reduce costs while simultaneously enhancing performance and safety. Each of their 1,600 trucks is proof that electric vehicles can handle the rigorous demands of the job.

Environmental Benefits and Achievements

The environmental benefits of Orange EV’s trucks are noteworthy. In their ten million hours of active duty, the fleet has eliminated approximately 200,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. This significant reduction in emissions is paired with over $100 million in savings for fleets in fuel and maintenance costs. Remarkably, as the trucks reach impressive milestones—many exceeding 30,000 hours of active service—they do so on their original Orange-designed LFP battery packs, which have shown extraordinary durability.
