Introduction to the New eSprinter Vans
DHL Express is taking a monumental step in the realm of sustainable logistics with the introduction of 45 new Mercedes eSprinter panel vans in North America. With over 10,000 eSprinter vans already deployed globally, this marks the first time they will be utilized on American soil, signifying a major shift towards greener delivery solutions.

Impressive Range and Cargo Capacity
Equipped with a promised range of 206 miles, DHL has consistently observed that these innovative vans exceed 240 miles, particularly in urban stop-and-go scenarios. This remarkable capability makes the eSprinter the longest-range battery electric vehicle in DHL’s US fleet. Despite the transition to electric, these vans maintain the same impressive cargo capacity as their diesel counterparts, ensuring that businesses do not have to compromise on payload or operational efficiency.
Commitment to Sustainability
Greg Hewitt, the CEO of DHL Express US, emphasized that electrifying the fleet is one of the most impactful ways to push towards a sustainable future. The introduction of the eSprinter helps advance this vision, allowing DHL to serve its customers with zero emissions. The initial deployment of the eSprinter vans will take place in cities like Chicago, Indiana, and Pittsburgh, as part of DHL’s broader strategy to electrify 66% of its last-mile US delivery fleet by 2030. This initiative sets the groundwork for future electric fleet growth across the Americas, further reinforcing DHL’s commitment to eco-friendly logistics.
