Exciting News for BMW EV Owners
BMW has officially announced its entry into the Tesla Supercharger network, marking a significant milestone for electric vehicle (EV) drivers in North America. From now on, BMW i4, ix, and other EV owners in the US will have access to over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers. This integration delivers a massive boost to charging options, making long journeys more convenient and efficient.

Transitioning to the North American Charging Standard
This move follows a growing trend among major automakers transitioning to the North American Charging Standard (NACS). Tesla’s proprietary connector has quickly become the industry standard, making it easier for BMW and other brands to provide seamless charging solutions. Starting today, BMW EV drivers can find Tesla Superchargers directly integrated into their vehicle’s navigation system and the My BMW app.
Adapting to the New Charging Infrastructure
While this news is promising, BMW owners should note that their current EV models equipped with CCS ports will require a CCS-to-NACS adapter to access most Tesla V3 and V4 Superchargers. Official adapters are expected to hit the market in Q2 2026, but third-party options are already available, providing some immediate solutions. For those near Tesla’s “magic dock” locations, instant access is possible without any additional hardware.
BMW has also shared a timeline for incorporating native NACS ports in future models, starting with the 2026 BMW i5 M60. This development will eventually streamline the charging process, eliminating the need for adapters altogether. With BMW taking these steps, electric vehicle ownership continues to become more user-friendly and accessible!
