Volkswagen’s Electric Evolution
Get ready, car enthusiasts! In mid-2026, Volkswagen plans to unmask the highly anticipated ID.CROSS as part of their new lineup of affordable EVs. Much like its electric cousin, the ID.Polo, the ID.CROSS promises to bring that “secret sauce” VW enthusiasts have been craving, transforming the EV landscape with style and economy.

A Sneak Peek at the ID.CROSS
We caught our first glimpse of the ID.CROSS back in September at the Munich Motor Show, where VW whetted our appetites with a near-production concept. Recent spy shots reveal the electric SUV, nearly unmasked and sporting a cheeky smile thanks to its distinctive 3D light bar and LED headlights. It’s establishing itself as almost a spitting image of its concept counterpart, minus the disguise!

The Specs That Make Us Smile
So, what can we expect from this new entry-level marvel? The ID.CROSS comes in sporting dimensions, measuring 4,161 mm long, 1,839 mm wide, and 1,588 mm tall. But don’t let the compact size fool you; with 450 liters of boot space and a versatile interior (you can fold the seats flat!), it’s an all-rounder perfect for any adventure. Powered by the same MEB platform as the ID.Polo, it’s estimated to hit a driving range of 420 km (that’s 261 miles, folks!). And did we mention the minimalist 13-inch infotainment system? Talk about sleek!
As we await the official price reveal (we’re looking at below the ID.4, currently starting at €35,000), the ID.CROSS may just be the budget-friendly, stylish ride we never knew we needed!
