125,000-Plus Teslas Recalled

Tesla is recalling more than 125,000 examples of its Model S, Model X, Model 3 and Model Y for a defective seat belt warning light and chime.

 

 

Affected vehicles include model-year 2017-23 Model 3 and 2012-24 Model S sedans, as well as model-year 2015-24 Model X and 2020-23 Model Y SUVs.

Tesla will release an over-the-air software update. Tesla will notify owners July 27, but owners can contact the automaker in the meantime at 877-798-3752 (Tesla’s number for this recall is SB-24-00-008), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
