The New Face of Chevrolet Vans

Chevrolet has expanded its lineup by incorporating the BrightDrop electric van series under its brand. General Motors (GM) announced the introduction of the 2025 Chevrolet BrightDrop 400 and BrightDrop 600, leveraging Chevrolet’s extensive commercial vehicle sales and service network. Though technically not new models, these electric vans offer significant advancements in terms of features and performance.

Specifications and Configurations

The 2025 Chevrolet BrightDrop vans come in two primary configurations: the BrightDrop 400 and BrightDrop 600. The BrightDrop 400 measures 238.6 inches in length with a 153.1-inch wheelbase, offering a cargo capacity of 412 cubic feet. On the other hand, the BrightDrop 600 is 290.0 inches long with a wheelbase of 183.5 inches and a cargo space of 615 cubic feet. Each model is available in both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) setups, and boasts payload capacities ranging from 3130 pounds to 3480 pounds depending on the configuration.

Performance and Charging Capabilities

These new electric vans utilize GM’s Ultium battery platform, promising impressive performance and range. The AWD models, equipped with two electric motors, produce 300 horsepower and offer a maximum range of up to 272 miles with the optional “Max Range” battery. The FWD models, featuring a single motor, generate 240 horsepower and provide a range of 159 miles (for the 400) to 164 miles (for the 600). Charging options include a DC fast charger capable of replenishing up to 120 kW, and a Level 2 AC charger which supports up to 19.2 kW for AWD models.

Modern Interior and Advanced Technology

The interior of the BrightDrop vans is designed to be modern and driver-friendly. The dashboard includes an 11.3-inch infotainment screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, supplemented by an 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster. Additional features include automatic climate control, a heated seat, a heated steering wheel, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors. In terms of safety, the vans are equipped with numerous driver-assistance technologies such as forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking, park assist, and lane-keep assist.

Availability and Dealer Support

While pricing details are yet to be announced, GM has stated that the BrightDrop vans will be sold exclusively to fleet customers. All Chevrolet dealerships meeting specific requirements will have the opportunity to sell and service these advanced electric vans, helping to ensure that customers receive comprehensive support and service.
