Overview of the 2025 Toyota Highlander

The 2025 Toyota Highlander continues its legacy as a versatile mid-size SUV, offering both hybrid and nonhybrid powertrain options. However, prospective buyers will note a significant increase in the entry price for the hybrid model this year.

Hybrid Pricing Changes

For 2025, Toyota has discontinued the base-level LE trim of the Highlander Hybrid, which previously started at $42,420. The new entry point is the XLE trim, with a base price of $47,470. This increase of nearly ,000 may influence buyers looking for a cost-effective hybrid option.

Nonhybrid Highlander Trim Levels

Those seeking the most affordable Highlander will find solace in the nonhybrid version. The LE trim remains available, with a starting price of $40,970. Other trims, such as the XLE (,120) and Limited (,225), maintain stable pricing compared to last year’s models.

However, the sportier XSE and top-tier Platinum trims have experienced price hikes, starting at ,790 and ,375, respectively. Notably, the Highlander Hybrid trim levels are now limited to the XLE, Limited, and Platinum, with starting prices of ,925 and ,125, both increasing by ,250 compared to 2024.

The shift towards all-wheel drive as the standard for hybrids reflects a trend in automotive preferences, ensuring that drivers have enhanced traction without an additional cost.

Exciting updates for the 2025 Highlander include a new 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster for the XSE, as well as two new paint colors: Cement and Heavy Metal. To commemorate the Highlander’s 25th anniversary, an exclusive anniversary edition based on the hybrid-powered Limited trim will feature unique badging and upgraded options.
