Overview of the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9

The highly anticipated 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 is set to enter the electric vehicle (EV) market, catering to families seeking spacious, high-performance electric SUVs. This model, which features three rows of seating, competes directly with renowned electric SUVs such as the Kia EV9, Rivian R1S, Tesla Model X, Volkswagen ID. Buzz, and Volvo EX90. With a design reminiscent of the Ioniq 5 but tailored for family needs, the Ioniq 9 promises to deliver both comfort and style.

Powertrains and Performance

The Ioniq 9 will be available in several configurations, featuring a standard single electric motor providing 215 horsepower, along with options for dual electric motors that output up to 422 horsepower. The vehicle is equipped with a robust 110.3-kilowatt-hour battery pack, aimed at delivering a targeted range of at least 300 miles. Notably, the long-range rear-wheel-drive variant is projected to achieve up to 335 miles on a single charge, making it an excellent option for long-distance travel.

Innovative Features and Comfort

Designed with aerodynamics in mind, the Ioniq 9 includes various upgrades that enhance its efficiency. The vehicle’s smart design features hidden antennas and specialized underbody covers, contributing to a low coefficient of drag. Inside, the spacious cabin offers 21.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, expandable to 46.7 cubic feet with the third row folded. Comfortably seating up to seven, the Ioniq 9 is tailored for families, ensuring ample room for all occupants.
