The Afeela 1, an electric sedan from the joint venture between Sony and Honda Mobility (SHM), is set to revolutionize the EV market. Slated for release in mid-2026, this model carries a starting price of $89,900, placing it in the premium segment alongside brands like Genesis, BMW, and Audi.

Trims and Features

SHM has announced that the Afeela 1 will be available in two distinct trims: Origin and Signature. The Origin trim will retain the starting price of ,900, while the Signature model will cost 2,900. The Signature trim includes enhancements such as 21-inch wheels and a sophisticated rear entertainment system. Both models will offer three exterior color options—Tidal Gray, Calm White, and Core Black—and two interior color choices, Black or Gray.

Subscription Services and Technical Specs

Incorporating advanced technology, the Afeela 1 features a three-year complimentary subscription that includes Afeela Intelligent Drive, a Level 2 driver assistance system supported by 40 sensors. Additionally, it comes with Afeela Personal Agent, a voice assistant for in-car functions. Although specific costs for subscription renewal remain undisclosed, the system promises to provide a range of entertainment content, customizable digital themes, and 5G data connectivity. Under the hood, it boasts an electric driving range of 300 miles, powered by a 91.0-kWh lithium-ion battery and all-wheel drive with dual 241-hp electric motors. Reservations for the Afeela 1 are now being accepted with a refundable fee of 0, marking the commencement of an exciting new chapter in electric mobility.
