Introduction to Alpine’s EV Ambitions

Alpine, the illustrious French subsidiary of Renault, is gearing up to make its mark in the U.S. market by introducing an exciting lineup of electric vehicles (EVs) expected to launch in 2027. This strategic move seeks to capitalize on the growing demand for high-performance electric mobility solutions.

Introducing the A390 and A490 Models

The centerpiece of Alpine’s electric lineup will be the compact A390. Sharing a platform with the Nissan Ariya, this model promises to combine lightweight design with impressive performance, setting a new benchmark for sports EVs. A surprisingly sporty concept of the A390 was unveiled in 2024, showcasing sharp styling and a dynamic sloping roofline that highlights its agility. Alongside the A390, Alpine plans to introduce the A490, a more wagon-like variant designed for versatility without compromising on the performance that enthusiasts expect.

Future Prospects and Aspirations

In addition to the A390 and A490, Alpine is also committed to producing an electric successor to its iconic A110 coupe, which will serve as the brand’s flagship model. Furthermore, the anticipated A310 is set for a 2028 release and aims to compete head-to-head with luxury electric vehicles like the Porsche Taycan. With these ambitious models, Alpine is positioning itself as a formidable player in the burgeoning electric vehicle market.
