Thrilling Conclusion to Friday Practice

In a breathtaking finale to the second practice session in Thailand, Alex Marquez pulled off a stunning last lap that allowed him to dominate the MotoGP time tracker. Despite Marc Marquez holding the top spot for the majority of the session with an impressive fastest lap of 1.29.020s, Alex managed to edge him out by a mere 0.052 seconds as the clock wound down.

All-Spanish Top Three

The session culminated in an all-Spanish podium, highlighting the talent present in the paddock. KTM rider Pedro Acosta made a significant comeback from a challenging first session to secure the third position. Marco Bezzecchi showcased his competitive spirit once again while riding for Aprilia; however, his progress was marred by a late crash. This incident not only affected his performance but also disrupted several other riders during the closing moments of the session.

Impact of Yellow Flags

Bezzecchi’s crash led to yellow flags being issued, impacting the last minute runs of riders, particularly Francesco Bagnaia. Although the flags were subsequently lifted, the congestion on the racing line hampered Bagnaia’s attempt to improve his position. Ultimately, he completed the session in 13th place, which puts him in a challenging position heading into qualifying on Saturday.
