Logistical Challenges Prompt FIA’s Decision

As the F1 2025 season progresses, the FIA has made an important adjustment to the curfew times for all 10 teams participating in the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix. Due to significant logistical challenges, particularly involving the official tyre supplier Pirelli, the governing body opted to ease restrictions on team personnel this Wednesday night. This change marks a critical response to unforeseen freight issues following the season-opener in Melbourne.

New Curfew Regulations

The previous standard curfew of 11.5 hours has now been reduced to a more manageable six-hour window. This allows teams to have a uniquely adapted schedule just for the Chinese GP, enabling them to work on their cars with fewer restrictions. Specifically, a maximum of six operational personnel will now be permitted to prepare tyres post-fitting. This adjustment aims to address logistical difficulties and ensure smooth preparations for the race weekend ahead.

Impact on Teams and Tyre Preparations

The FIA acknowledged in their official notice that the alterations stemmed from delays in freight arrival. The need to adjust the existing fitting schedule for Wednesday necessitated this temporary relief in curfew. Teams are now better positioned to deal with the challenges posed by the revised logistics surrounding the event. As the first sprint format of the year approaches, these changes will surely assist teams in fine-tuning their race strategies and ensuring all requirements are met in a timely fashion.
